FAQs
Understand the quality limits before exporting
A finished job means the model produced files, not that it recreated the original studio stems. Dense arrangements, distorted singing, chorus effects, live audience noise, and reverb can make clean separation difficult. Quiet artifacts may become more noticeable when a track plays alone. The output can still be useful for listening and practice, but critical production work needs your own quality judgment. We do not promise lossless conversion, perfect vocal removal, or studio-quality isolation. Try a cleaner source or a shorter section if a result is disappointing. This version provides one model configuration so the first workflow stays straightforward.
Your audio stays with the local service
The page sends the selected recording to a Python model service on this computer. AI inference happens there, not inside the browser and not at a cloud audio provider. The model weights are downloaded during setup; that model download is separate from processing your recording. Temporary files are stored locally. Completed outputs become eligible for cleanup after one hour and are removed on a subsequent service request. Closing the browser does not immediately remove them. Use the remove button when a job is finished if you want to delete those service files now. WAV files already saved to your Downloads folder remain under your control.
Formats, limits, and troubleshooting
Choose an MP3 or WAV, from 0.5 seconds to five minutes, up to 30 MB. The local decoder converts accepted input for the model; output is stereo WAV, not MP3. Export may involve resampling and quantization, so the original encoding is not preserved. Keep the model service running alongside the website. An offline-service message means the page cannot reach that local component; changing the filename will not fix it. Corrupt or unsupported files should be replaced with a valid export from your audio application. Up to eight jobs may be retained at once. Remove older completed jobs if the service asks you to free space.
Is this audio splitter free to use?
This local version has no subscription, account, or credit charge. It uses the storage and processing resources of the computer running the service. You interact with it through a web page, but opening a page on another device does not automatically install or run the AI model on that device. We describe the product as a local audio splitter to keep that distinction clear. A public hosted version, different usage limits, or cloud processing would require a separate implementation and an updated explanation. The current page does not offer unlimited processing or promise to work without the local service being available.
Can I remove drums, bass, or background noise?
The available downloads are vocals and instrumental only. There are no separate buttons for drums, bass, guitar, or piano, and this workflow is not a dedicated noise-reduction or speech-enhancement tool. Do not expect it to clean every noisy voice recording. If your goal is simply to shorten a track, use the audio cutter instead; that operation selects a time range without trying to recognize instruments. If your goal is to understand which kind of splitting you need, the tool guide explains the difference. Keeping these tasks separate makes the controls easier to understand and the output easier to evaluate.
